The Heart Month

Today we come back with the Carters on their initiative heart month ! 

Discover through this interview the creators of this beautiful initiative, their motivations, their goals!

Sister Allison Carter and Eric Carter are two medical missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and work here in American Samoa in the hospital system.

Here is our little interview!

Can you explain what is this Heart Month? 

Allison : « We organized Heart Month, during which the community mobilized to raise awareness about heart disease. The final event was Heart Olympic Day. »

What’s the goal of the olympic heart day? 

Allison : « Heart Month’s goals were to bring different sports and activities together in one place for the community to come and try, watch and play. We also wanted to create a supportive community so that everyone would feel welcome and part of a group. »

Three words to define this day?  

Eric : « Three words, it’s hard to do to 3 words… »

Allison : « I would say, momentum, happiness and community. »

Eric : « Well said ! »
